At Six Hotel boasts 343 rooms, including suites and a penthouse, alongside an impressive collection of contemporary art, featuring works by Jaume Plensa, Olafur Eliasson, Julian Opie, Sol Le Witt, and more The hotel spans 10 floors and offers a restaurant, wine bar, cocktail bar, gym, and event and meeting spaces.
The primary challenge of the project was to balance the contrasts between the predominantly dark surfaces. These range from pencil-gray stone, accented with dark wood floors, wall panels, and ceilings, to varying shades of gray in the furniture, carpets, and textiles. To highlight these materials effectively, it was crucial to establish contrast-rich lighting. A foundation of well-designed lighting, with clear direction, a warm tone, and excellent colour rendering, has added clarity and sharpness to the space. Using relatively few lighting elements, the result is a visually comfortable environment that exudes exclusivity and elegance without being overwhelming.
